This year, theEPO (European Patent Office ) is once again awarding the European Inventor Prize. For over a decade, this event has been a benchmark in the world of industrial property and innovation.
Awarded to inventors and innovators, this prize is recognized and prized the world over. Its aim is to reward people who contribute to economic growth through their technical and intellectual creativity, thereby helping to improve people’s everyday lives.
This year’s award will be presented in Vienna on June 20, 2019.
Among the finalists in the 2018 edition, we can mention in the “industry” category the French Agnès Poulbot and Jacques Barraud for the self-healing tread. This solution is marketed by Michelin, which holds the patent. You can consult patentEP2379352 onthe EPO website.
In the “Lifetime achievement” category, French inventor Jacques Lewiner was selected, having initiated some 500 patent applications. He also holds 68 patents in Europe.
